On 17 January 2020, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs led a group of participants under the MFA’s Training Programme for Students from Thailand’s Southern Border Provinces for 2020 to attend a briefing given by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Numsuk on the roles and missions of the Sheikhul Islam of Thailand.                    

          During the briefing session, the students were provided with information on the works of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand and the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand. They also learned about the establishment of the Nongjok community, whose ancestors migrated from Nongjik, a district in Pattani Province, located in southern Thailand.
