Closing Ceremony of the English Programme for Home-based Staff 2026

The Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs has been developing and organising the English Programme for Home-based Staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs annually. In 2026, the programme was conducted from 12 March to 22 May 2026 (twice a week), to enhance the competency of the supporting staff in their English-related work, allowing them to perform their duties more effectively, as well as building their confidence in using English for communication in a variety of situations.
The Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Jeddah, conducted an English-language workshop for Thai students in Western Saudi Arabia.

On Sunday, 5 July 2026, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Jeddah, organised an English-Language Communication for Daily Life workshop for Thai students from the Western region of Saudi Arabia. The workshop was attended by 24 Thai students and was held at the Al Meroz Hotel, Bangkok. The activity was conducted as part of the Third Representative Thai Student Programme for Western Saudi Arabia, and held from 3 to 9 July 2026.The programme also included meetings with Thai organisations operating in the halal industry and other priority industries identified under the Government's current policy. This programme aimed to enhance the participants' quality of life by developing their English communication skills, professional demeanour, and confidence in using English in daily life. It also aimed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for their future education, careers, and personal development.
Opening Ceremony of the Basic Chinese Language Course Fiscal Year 2026

The Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Confucius Institute of Chulalongkorn University, has designed and developed the Basic Chinese Language Course Fiscal Year 2026 for officers and other staff across all divisions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme aims to enhance participants’ basic knowledge of and communication skills in Mandarin Chinese through wide-ranging practical content applicable to both professional and everyday contexts, as well as conveying relevant aspects of Chinese culture.

On 15 June 2026, Mr. Chuchart Jirojkul, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony of the Intensive Language Course (ILC) 2026, welcoming 25 participants from 25 government agencies. He expressed his sincere appreciation to the sending organizations for recognizing the importance of staff development by equipping their personnel in the field of English communication at work and for supporting the attendance of staff at this six-week training programme. The knowledge and skills acquired will not only improve participants’ daily work performance but also enhance both the organizations’ operational efficiency and staff members’ long-term professional expertise in their respective fields. He also encouraged participants to network and build connections for future beneficial collaboration.

Dato’ Zainol Rahim Zainuddin, Director General of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR), together with participants of the Diploma in Diplomacy (DiD) programme conducted by IDFR under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

On Tuesday, 23 June 2026, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, hosted a special lecture for 35 students from the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Leiden University, the Netherlands, in Meeting Room 3 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme aimed to enhance the participants' understanding of Thailand's foreign policy and also to provide insights into Thailand's role in international development cooperation.
