The visit to Singapore by Thai Junior Diplomats and Officers Under the Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP)

               On 24 - 27 September 2025, Mr. Thanop Panyapattanakul, Assistant Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, led a group of 20 junior officers, comprising 18 diplomats and 2 development cooperation officers, to Singapore under the Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP).

               The delegation participated in various diplomatic training activities and exchanged views with Singaporean junior diplomats on topics of mutual interest, such as the foreign policies of both countries. The Thai junior diplomats received a briefing on Singapore's foreign policy and in turn delivered a presentation on Thailand's foreign policy. The main highlights of the Civil Service Exchange Programme (CSEP) are opportunities to build networks between junior diplomats from Thailand and Singapore and to take turns in hosting some joint training activities. On this occasion, the Thai junior diplomats has the opportunity to join some training activities with their Singapore counterparts, such as a fireside chat with Ambassador - at - Large Ong Keng Yong, former Secretary - General of ASEAN; a lecture on developments in the Middle East by the Middle East Institute at the National University of Singapore; and a lecture on ASEAN by the ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute.

               In addition, the delegation paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Singapore, and received briefings from Team Thailand and PTT International Trading Co., Ltd., one of the major Thai private companies in Singapore, on the missions and responsibilities of each agency. Towards the end of the programme, the delegation also visited Gardens by the Bay and the Singapore City Gallery to learn about Singapore’s urban development through the expansion of green spaces and the integration of innovation with sustainability.
