On 22 nd November 2019, Ms Lada Phumas, the Director of Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs had the honor of presiding over the closing ceremony
of the Oral Communication Course batch 1/2020 organized by the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The course included 23 participants from 18 government agencies and state enterprises. The OCC course was designed as a dual component course to develop their proficiency in giving presentations in English and participating in meetings where English is the primary language.
From 6 th - 22 nd November 2019, the first component was held at the DVIFA; and included both theoretical practice of presentation skills as well as skills needed to attend and
participate in international meetings.
From 25 th - 29 th November 2019, in the second component the participants will attend a workshop in Singapore at the SEAMEO Regional Language Centre (RELC). They will
apply the skills they have learned in a simulated international meeting under the topic of “Sustainable Development Goals: Clean Water and Sanitation in Asia”.
The Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs has continuously organized the Oral Communication Course: OCC since 2000. This course has received a significant interest from Thai government agencies and state enterprises in Thailand.
