During 19-20 December 2019, Mrs. Usana Wongnarkpet, Human Resources Officer, Expert Level, Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), led a group of officials from the Passport Office (Yala Province), the Policy and Planing Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC) to conduct an interview of approximately 80 students wishing to join the 15th badge of the training programme for 2020 to be organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The interview was held at C.S. Hotel in Pattani Province.
The training programme has been initiated since 2006, allowing 30 students who are pursuing their 2nd to 4th year education at universities across Thailand’s southern border provinces (Songkhla, Yala, Pattani, and Narathiwat) to join the training. It aims for the students to enhance their knowledge and understanding on Thailand’s development in various dimensions and to increase their participation in sharing their perspectives and views with other relevant sectors, including the government, private sectors and community. The programme also provides moral support and inspiration to youth in the southern area who are not only good at studies, but also living an ethical life. Since its inception, the programme has been sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs will conduct the training programme on 15 - 28 January 2020, offering a wide range of activities to the students such as a visit to the Department of Consular Affairs, a participation in an English Camp, etc.
