On 20 January 2020, a group of participants under the MFA’s training programme for students from Thailand’s southern border provinces attended a briefing given by Mr. Narong Boonsatheanwong, Deputy Director - General of the Department of Consular Affairs, on the missions of the Department of Consular Affairs, MFA.  

               The Department of Consular Affairs has its missions and outreach, namely to provide policy options, to implement its consular plans, to lay down consular guidelines and regulations, and to strengthen its coordination with embassies, consulates - general and honorary consulates in protection of Thai citizens and their interests abroad.  The Department operates under slogan “people-centred diplomacy”.  The participants were also given an opportunity to see its passport production process.
