On 10 March 2020, the Devawong Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs began the English Programme for Home-Based Staff 2020 for 22 support staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The training course spans 120 hrs. and includes classroom training on every Tuesday from 08.30 - 15.30 hrs. between 10th March – 24th July 2020. It also includes a 3 -day English workshop near Bangkok. The aim of the course is to develop their English communication skills and boost confidence in their work.
Ms. Lada Phumas, the Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) presided over the opening ceremony. She encouraged all the participants to participate enthusiastically in all training activities and to enhance their English skills such as listening, speaking, reading, writing, and to apply them efficiently in their workplace. She also emphasized that attending the course is a good opportunity to build networks between support staff who also have an important role in the Ministry. The DVIFA, therefore, takes this occasion to help increase as well as strengthen their English language competency in full capacity.
