               On 20th February 2023, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand hosted a briefing for the faculties and students from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore and the School of Global Studies, Thammasat University at the Narathip Auditorium, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

               The briefing aimed to enhance understanding of Thailand's foreign affairs, regional and international cooperation, and South-South cooperation.

               The first session was an overview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' brief history and functions, which was presented by representatives from the Personnel Management Bureau, Mr. Tharapong Jamnongluck (Counsellor), and Mr. Kitibodee Janpravit (First Secretary).

               The second session was conducted by Dr. Suwit Mangkhala, Director of Dialogue Partners and International Organs Relations Division, Department of ASEAN Affairs, who gave an insightful presentation on Thailand's role in ASEAN.

               The last session focused on Thailand's role in international cooperation, specifically in South-South cooperation, and was led by Miss Pin Sridurongkatum, Secretary of the Department, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).
Each session was followed by a Q&A session where participants were able to raise their queries and engage in discussions that enabled students to link their academic knowledge to actual practices.

               This brief was part of a four-day study visit of Masters in International Affairs students from the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy and Thammasat University’s Master of Arts in Social Innovation and Sustainability programme.
