On 29 November 2019, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) led a group of 14 newly-recruited home-based officials to visit the Golden Jubilee Museum of Agriculture, the Living Museum in Pathumtani Province. The museum showcases His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s wisdom for agricultural development. The officials were briefed on His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great’s Philosophy for Sufficiency Economy and His 23 fundamental principles for performance. The delegation has learned about various examples and means of practicing urban agriculture in limited spaces such as in housing estates or condominiums.

In the afternoon, the group paid a visit to the Renewable Energy Learning Center (Sunny Bangchak) in Ayutthaya Province. The center is very modern and active in providing knowledge and information on regional and global energy situations and trends. The center itself is a solar power plant comprising over 100,000 solar panels and covering 500 rais. Currently, it supplies power to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). Members of the group enthusiastically exchanged views with the center’s staff on Thailand’s efforts in exploring alternative sources of energy and other forms of renewable and clean energy, like solar energy. This learning center reflects how the country has been equipped with innovation and technology in the field of energy to achieve the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
