          On 2 July 2020, Ambassador Theerakun Niyom, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, was invited to give a lecture on “Work Culture in the Ministry and How to be an Effective and Responsible Diplomat” to diplomatic officials who were attending the Executive Skills Enhancement Programme for Counsellors for the year 2020. Ambassador Theerakun shared his vast experience with the officials, made practical suggestions and underlined the need for lifelong learning to ensure officials at every level are knowledgeable, well-rounded, ethical and responsive in their work. He also pointed out that as executives, demonstrating a positive attitude and desire for self-improvement is a key to nurturing a desirable work culture. The participants to the course expressed their interest in the topic and appreciated the opportunity to exchange views with the lecturer through the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs’ online learning platform.
