                On 21st July 2020, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs launched a 6-day online negotiation and writing skills course at the Institute.  The course was arranged in collaboration with the Centre for Political and Diplomatic Studies (CPDS), UK and ran during 21-23 July 2020, and during 29-31 July 2020.  The aim was to build the participating diplomats’ knowledge of foreign affairs and diplomacy, and enhance their diplomatic skills in these two key areas.

                During the opening session, Ms. Lada Phumas gave the opening remarks, in which she emphasised the importance of providing continuing learning opportunities to diplomats to ensure their preparedness to fulfil their duties in the face of challenges associated with today’s rapidly changing global situation. 

                The course was taught by CPDS experts from the UK, Australia and New Zealand who are widely recognized for their extensive experience in training diplomats around the world.  The course was adjusted in accordance with the urgency of current events and focused on active learning to reflect the Institute’s commitment to provide training to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand’s personnel in line with the 20-year National Strategy and the Ministry’s 5s Strategic Plan which give priority to people-centered development.
