On 23 July 2026, Mr. Chuchart Jirojkul, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, presided over the closing ceremony of the 2026 Intensive Language Course (ILC) and presented certificates to the 25 participants from 25 government agencies who had successfully completed the course.

               The Director commended the participants for their commitment, dedication, and active engagement throughout the training. He encouraged them to apply and build on the knowledge, skills, experience and networks gained, thus continuing to strengthen their English proficiency to enhance the effectiveness of their work and contribute to their respective organisations.

               The ILC is an annual English-language programme developed by the Institute for government officials to build confidence and effectiveness in workplace communication and prepare them for working in international settings. The six-week course was held this year on weekdays from 15 June to 24 July. It combined classroom learning with practical activities, including presentation skills and communication practice in various contexts, study visits to public- and private-sector organisations, and the ILC English Camp, an interactive English-language seminar and workshop.

               This year the Institute also invited distinguished guest speakers, including Dr. Wit Sittivaekin, Ms. Patchari Raksawong, and Mr. Preecha Kaensa, former Consul-General in Kolkata, to share insights on communication strategies, the role of MC, and working in international contexts. Their contributions provided the participants with valuable perspectives and complemented the practical training.

               Through a range of interactive activities, the course enabled participants to practise English in situations closely related to real-world professional settings, exchange perspectives and experiences, and develop confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Bringing together officials from 25 government agencies also helped strengthen networks that will support future inter-agency coordination and cooperation.
