The Overseas Posting English Programme (OPEP) is conducted annually by the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) with the objective of enhancing the English communication skills of support staff of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The programme offers a wide range of interactive activities and course materials to ensure that participants are able to communicate fluently and confidently in English for both daily life and professional contexts before overseas postings.

On 5 February 2026, Mr. Chuchart Jirojkul, Minister Counsellor and Acting Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), presided over the closing ceremony of the Overseas Posting English Programme for MFA support staff. He congratulated all participants on their dedication, persistence, and active participation to improve their English proficiency during lectures and classroom activities throughout the 3-month period of the training programme. He encouraged participants to continue practising and developing their English skills and knowledge through various easily accessible platforms, embodying the concept of “life-long learning” to upgrade both “language skills” and “professional competencies” for effective work performance. Furthermore, he noted that the MFA emphasized the importance of human resource development and the potential of its staff at all levels to implement the Ministry’s motto of “Synergy and Collaboration”.

Overall, 15 participants from 11 agencies took part in the Overseas Posting English Programme, which ran from 3 November 2025 to 5 February 2026 for two full days per week, with a total of 138 hours.
