On 31 August 2026, Mr. Chuchart Jirojkul, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), welcomed Mr. Tadakazu Niiyama, Vice Principal of Sendagaya Japanese Institute of Tokyo. During the meeting, Mr. Niiyama shared an overview of the Institute’s roles and activities, as well as its Japanese language training programmes.

               On this occasion, both sides discussed ways to further enhance the Japanese language skills of Thai diplomats. Mr. Niiyama expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand for sending Thai diplomats to participate in Japanese language training at Sendagaya Japanese Institute. He also expressed the Institute’s readiness to cooperate with the DVIFA in improving the Japanese language proficiency of Thai diplomats at both beginners and advanced levels.

               In 2025 and 2026, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand sent its officials to participate in Japanese language training programmes at Sendagaya Japanese Institute in Tokyo. The programmes aimed to provide officials with prior knowledge of Japanese with opportunities to refresh their knowledge and further develop their Japanese language skills.
