Closing Ceremony of the Intensive English Language Course for Officers from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic

                On 27 August 2026, Mr. Chuchart Jirojkul, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), presided over the closing ceremony of the Intensive English Language Course for Officers from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (IELC) and presented certificates to 17 participants from the Lao PDR, who attended the course from 18 to 27 August 2026 in Bangkok.

                On this occasion, the Director of the DVIFA congratulated the participants and commended their dedication and active participation throughout the course. He expressed his hope that the knowledge, skills, and experience gained, particularly in participating in international meetings, note-taking and report writing, delivering presentations, and public spea king, would enhance their confidence in using English and enable them to apply these skills effectively in their work. He also highlighted the friendships and professional networks developed through learning and spending time together, which would benefit their work and future cooperation.

                The IELC is part of the human resource development cooperation between Thailand and the Lao PDR and reflects the close cooperation between the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR under the Memorandum of Understanding on Academic Exchange and Cooperation. The course was conducted under the 3rd Thailand - Lao PDR Three-Year Development Cooperation Programme (2026 - 2028), with support from the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA). The training not only aims to strengthen the capacity of personnel, but also plays an important role in further strengthening professional networks, cordial relations, and cooperation between officials of the two countries.
