The Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) organised the English for Communication Course for Officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Governmental Agencies of Lao People Democratic Republic from 12 - 16 June 2023. At the opening session, Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Director of the DVIFA, welcomed the participants; and Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), gave an opening remarks.

               The organisation of this course is the collaboration between the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the DVIFA under the Cooperation Plan for Development between Thailand and Laos PDR and the MOU on Academic Exchange and Cooperation between the DVIFA and Institute of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lao PDR signed in 2020.

               Participating in this course are 25 diplomats and government officers from various provinces of Lao PDR, including those from Institute of Foreign Affairs, and 10 Development Cooperation Officers from TICA. This course provided the opportunity for participants to acquire communication skills essential in the context of international affairs as well as to create network among themselves. The participants also attended the presentation on “Thailand and Laos PDR Relations and Cooperation Opportunities,” where they learn about the close friendship and existing areas and opportunity of Thailand - Lao PDR cooperation.
