On 7 July 2023, Mr. Narat Vidyananda, Minister Counsellor, on behalf of the Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), along with the heads of divisions in DVIFA welcomed H.E. Mr. Hamza Adan Haadoow, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and H.E. Mr. Abdisalam Suleiman Abdi Kodar, Director of Asia and Australia, as well as an officer from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia. Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) also joined the session to welcome and delivered a presentation.

               During the visit, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs provided a presentation on DVIFA’s role in developing the capacity of foreign service officers in Thai government agencies through the organisation of courses and academic activities. The session also included a presentation on TICA’s role and strategy in promoting development cooperation. In addition, both sides discussed ways to enhance the cooperation in human resources development, as well as, the collaboration between the diplomatic institutes of both countries.

               This visit by the Permanent Secretary to the DVIFA marks the first official visit of the representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
