On 6 August 2025, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) organised a special lecture entitled “Experience Sharing by Kasemsamosorn Scholarship Recipients” as part of the “DVIFA Knowledge Sharing” project at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Recreation Room, Sri Ayutthaya Road Building. The event brought together Ministry officials who had been awarded the 2025 Kasemsamosorn Short-term Training Scholarships to participate in training courses on (1) third language development (Spanish) and (2) English communication skills. The two groups of scholarship holders shared their knowledge and experiences, as well as inspired other officials who may apply for the scholarship in the future.

               In the first session, the four diplomatic officers who attended the Spanish Course for Diplomats at Paraninfo Academia, Spain, shared their academic, cultural, and lifestyle experiences. They highlighted the course’s distinctive features and activities, which covered multiple areas including diplomacy and international affairs, politics, and social and cultural studies, along with practical training in real-life situations. They also exchanged perspectives on the similarities and differences between Thai and Spanish cultures, the influence of geography on local cultural diversity, and Spain’s historical prosperity reflected in its art and antiquities.

               In the second session, twelve home-based officers who had joined the English Programme for Home-Based Staff at the Regional Language Centre (RELC), Singapore, spoke about the knowledge and English communication skills they had acquired from thier training. They also shared experiences from study visits and excursions to key sites in Singapore. All these has helped to enhance their confidence and effectiveness in using English in their work.

               At the conclusion of the presentations, the scholarship holders expressed their gratitude to the Ministry for granting them the Kasemsamosorn Scholarships, as well as to all agencies and staff involved for their support and facilitation. They pointed out that the training programmes had been a highly valuable experience, equipping them with knowledge, skills, and insights that they were able to apply to their work, contributing meaningfully to the Ministry’s diplomatic and foreign affairs missions in the future.
