The Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) is responsible for continuously enhancing the foreign language skills, primarily English, of officials across all levels and career streams within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For home-based officials, who play vital roles in supporting the Ministry’s core missions, the DVIFA conducts the “English Programme for Home-based Staff” annually. The programme focuses on strengthening participants’ English language skills in all areas, as well as improving overall communication by building greater confidence and effectiveness.

On 12 March 2026, Mr. Chuchart Jirojkul, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony of the English Programme for Home-based Staff 2026. Director Chuchart welcomed 16 participants from 7 departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He emphasised the importance of continuous learning and development of English language skills, which are essential for both professional activities and everyday life.

The programme runs from 12 March to 22 May 2026, with classes held every Tuesday and Thursday. Participants will engage in a variety of activities to upgrade their English language skills. Activities include presentations, exchanging opinions and ideas in real-life contexts, and group work. In addition, a four-day English Workshop at the DVIFA will focus on developing participants’ practical skills through simulations and active participant engagement.
