Opening Ceremony for the Intensive Language Course (ILC) Batch 2 / 2022

               On 15 March 2022, Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, the Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), assigned Dr. Narat Vidyananda, Minister Counsellor, presided over the opening ceremony of the Intensive Language Course (ILC) Batch 2 / 2022. Dr. Narat delivered his welcoming address to the 16 participants who are government officials from 9 government agencies and state enterprises. In his opening remarks, he encouraged the participants to take this opportunity to maximize their opportunities of using English with the instructors and fellow participants during classes and activities. In addition, he reminded them that this course is also a great platform for them to build networks in addition to enhancing their English skills.

               The training course will run from 15 August to 23 September 2022, Monday to Friday from 09.00 - 16.00 hrs. and covers 180 hours. The course is aimed to develop English skills and professional skills which are essential for their work and everyday lives, as well as to build their confidence in situations where English is needed. The subjects include Integrated Skills, Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing, Oral Communication and Socializing. This is the first ILC to be fully onsite since the COVID-19 situation forced most classes to be online; however, it is also prepared to accommodate online participants in case of the need for home quarantine.

               The first day of the course began with ice-breaking activities designed to help the participants to get to know each other, share ideas, experiences, and common personal interests. In addition to this, all the participants were motivated to build a positive attitude towards English communication which helps build their confidence in using English.
