One of the missions of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) is to enhance English and foreign language skills of Ministry of Foreign Affairs civil servants at all levels and various fields within the ministry. While performing its role in supporting the Ministry’s core missions, DVIFA has continuously developed the English Programme for Home-Based Staff. This program aims to improve the English language skills, knowledge, and abilities of home-based staff, and to enhance their confidence in communicating in English, enabling them to perform their roles more effectively.
On April 18, 2024, Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, the Director of the DVIFA, presided over the opening ceremony English Programme for Home-Based Staff 2024. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of learning and practicing English for both work and daily life purposes. Additionally, Mrs. Chirasawadi highlighted that English is a tool that can broaden personal interests and open new opportunities for the participants. She encouraged all participants to fully utilize this opportunity to learn and improve their skills, as well as to network with officials from other departments to promote better collaboration in the future.
This year, there are 13 participants from 9 departments within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attending the English Programme for Home-Based Staff 2024. The program will run from April 18 to July 25, 2024, with sessions scheduled for one to two days per week on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays from 09:00 to 16:00 hrs., at DVIFA, including a 3-day English Camp workshop in an up-country location.
