The Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) has a mission to provide academic services to government officials and personnel and to elevate their skills. By organising specialised training courses, DVIFA aims to enhance the proficiency of personnel at various levels, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle foreign affairs-related duties with finesse.

To achieve this, DVIFA has designed and developed the Intensive Language Course (ILC) to boost the English language skills of government personnel at the operational level and above. This course empowers them to apply their skills effectively in their professional roles.

On 13 January 2025, Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawat, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, presided over the opening ceremony of the Intensive Language Course (ILC) 2025. She highlighted the significance of mastering English for government duties and encouraged participants to actively engage in classroom discussions. Mrs. Chirasawat emphasised that exchanging ideas is key to developing English proficiency and building confidence in both public and interpersonal communication.

The course runs from 13 January to 24 February 2025 (weekdays), with 64 participants from 25 government agencies. Beyond classroom training, the program includes off-site study visits, offering participants the chance to practice public speaking in English and gain hands-on experience. Additionally, the immersive ILC English Camp will be held in an upcountry province to broaden learning beyond the classroom. Participants will engage in various group activities, applying their knowledge and English skills in real-world scenarios, thereby enriching their overall learning experience.
