Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) organised the 2nd diplomatic workshop for newly recruited diplomats from Myanmar from 27 to 31 May 2024. This programme was supported by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) as part of development cooperation
On May 27, 2024, the 22 delegates were welcomed by Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, gave the opening remarks hilighting that the programme would offer good opportunity to witness bilateral cooperation and friendship between the two countries at first hand, as well as to be trained the important diplomatic skills that is essential for diplomats in this VUCA world.
The knowledge and skills consisting in this workshop includes protocol, consular, and writing effective talking points, Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and development diplomacy. The participants visited the Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Centre and EGAT Learning Centre where they received the briefing on energy collaboration between Thailand and Myanmar. The programme also provided opportunities for networking between young and newly-recruited diplomats from Thailand and Cambodia.
