On 17 August 2021, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) chaired a closing ceremony of the online international training course on “Knowledge of Diplomacy (KOD): Diplomacy and Sustainability in the Rapidly Fast-Changing World”, organized between 17 August - 2 September 2021. During her closing remarks, Director Wiraka congratulated 36 foreign diplomats from more than 30 countries for having successfully participated in this 3-week KOD 2021 and expressed confidence that all knowledge and skills as well as diplomatic networks gained from this course would help facilitate the participants' current and future career.

               The KOD 2021 was organized for the 7^th time since 2013, with the objectives of enhancing knowledge and promoting better understanding about Thailand and Thailand’s roles in the international arena, with the highlight on sustainable development and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the KOD 2021 was organized in an online format with the sub-themes surrounding the COVID-19 and its management in different dimensions. As the KOD is a platform for knowledge and information sharing on diplomacy and international affairs, all participants were offered an opportunity to make a presentation of how their respective governments have managed the COVID-19 during the participants’ sharing sessions on “Domestic Management of the COVID-19 and Post-Pandemic Recovery Paths”.

               The successful organization of the KOD 2021 has reflected the DVIFA’s commitment as the main training unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen human resource capacity building. In addition, the achievement of the KOD 2021 has demonstrated Thailand’s constructive role in the international arena, particularly the efforts and undertakings to implement the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
