On 15 March 2022, Ms. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, the Director of Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, presided over the latest Intensive Language Course (Batch 1 / 2022). She delivered a welcoming address to all 17 participants who are government officials from other agencies. She also encouraged the participants to take this opportunity to maximize the benefits of using English while attending English classes and activities and also reminded them that, as well as practicing English, they should interact with the teachers and their classmates to build networks.

The training course will run from Monday to Friday 09.00 - 16.00, 15 March to 29 April 2022, for 180 hours in total. The aim of the course is for the participants to develop English skills and knowledge essential for carrying out their working and everyday lives, as well as building their confidence in situations where English is needed. The course comprises a blended learning approach integrating both online and onsite classes that could be conducted under the current COVID-19 preventative measures.

On the first day of the course, participants joined in with ice-breaking activities to help them get to know each other and to share ideas, experiences, and common personal interests. They were quite motivated and gained a positive attitude toward learning English that will help to build their confidence when speaking the language.
