On 16 June 2023, Ms. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, the Director of Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign opened the Intensive Language Course for 2023. The training course runs from 16 June to 27 July 2023, Monday to Friday, and includes training at both DVIFA and a 3 - day ILC Workshop in Samut Songkhram.

               The course aims to develop English skills and knowledge, which is essential for their work and everyday lives, as well as helping to build their confidence in situations where English is needed. There are 24 participants, who are all government officials from 14 agencies including (1) the Ministry of Tourism and Sports (2) the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (3) the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (4) the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (5) the Ministry of Energy (6) the Ministry of Commerce (7) the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (8) the Prime Minister’s Office (9) The Bureau of the Budget (10) the Office of the Council of State (11) the Secretariat of the Senate (12) the Office of the Auditor General of Thailand (13) the Office of the Court of Justice and (14) the Office of the Broadcasting Commission

               Ms Thitiporn delivered the welcoming address and encouraged the participants to take this opportunity to maximize the benefits of using English, while attending English classes and activities. In addition, interacting fully with teachers and classmates is highly recommended in order to build personal networks alongside their English practice. On the first day of the course, the ice-breaking activities were designed to help the participants to get to know each other and to share ideas, experiences, and common personal interests. In addition to this, all of the participants were motivated to pursue a positive attitude towards English communication, which is crucial in helping them to enhance their confidence in using the language.
