On July 18 - 19, 2023, the Foreign Language Center of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) organized a Customized Materials Development Workshop for the Overseas Posting English Programme. The workshop was specifically designed to meet the participants' specific needs, offering both interactive sessions and activities. These activities included various language and skills development exercises and group discussions; in addition, engaging games were conducted to create a positive learning atmosphere. There were 20 attendees at the workshop, including Thai and native English teachers, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) support staff, and DVIFA personnel.

                The Workshop aimed to (1) strengthen teachers’ skills in planning, designing and developing the Overseas Posting English Programme for MFA support staff who will be posted overseas at the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General. (2) build up a better understanding in developing materials and learner-centered approach activities in which learners have opportunities for interaction and involvement and (3) develop the Overseas Posting English Programme to be a proactive course which will be an active learning course in order to harmonize even more with their missions overseas.

                The Customised Materials Development Workshop for the Overseas Posting English Programme proved to be a valuable platform for sharing insights and improving the course curriculum and teaching methodologies. With the collaborative efforts of participants and the teaching team, the Overseas Posting English Programme is set to provide an enriching and effective learning experience in the future.
