On 27 July 2023, Dr Narat Vidyananda, the Minister Counselor and representative of the Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs presided over the Intensive Language Course Certificate Awards Ceremony. Dr. Narat delivered his congratulatory address and presented the certificates of achievement to the 24 participants who were government officials from 14 different agencies.

               Dr Narat commended each of the participants for their hard work, dedication and perseverance resulting in a marked improvement in their overall performance and increased confidence in using their English skills. He expressed his confidence that the knowledge and skills they gained during the course would serve as valuable assets in their civil service careers in the future.

               The ILC course commenced on 16 June to 27 July 2023 over a period of 180 hours, including training at DVIFA and a 3-day workshop in Samut Songkhram. The course was divided into three modules: (1) “Study in Class” with the focus on English language Skills and essential skills tailored to their respective professions; such as, socializing, public speaking, and cross-cultural communication, etc. (2) “The Study Visit” under the theme “Exploring Thailand's Soft Power: Culture, Heritage, and Sustainability was aimed to broaden their perspectives, gain the crucial role of the Amphawa Chaipattana Nurak, and to prepare them for the final activity, namely, the “Thai Cultural Fair”
(3) “Show Time” aimed at being an effective English communicator: during the final week of the ILC workshop the participants were encouraged to implement their English language skills and knowledge acquired, as well as their experiences, to complete the final projects, namely, the ILC Simulation Project and the Thai Cultural Fair. The ILC Simulation Project encouraged them to show their communicative skills during simulated and conversational events. Last, but not least, the Thai Cultural Fair served as a platform for the participants to gain practical knowledge in public speaking.

               In addition to language training, this course helped to create new bonds of friendship, and to expand their network of contacts in order to promote future cooperation amongst their organizations.
