          On 6 May 2026, Mr. Chuchart Jirojkul, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), met with Dr. Yuhki Tajima, Rector of Georgetown University (GU) School of Foreign Service Asia Pacific (based in Jakarta). The meeting was also attended by Dr. Scott Guggenheim, Director of Policy Labs and Professor of Research and Practice at Georgetown University.

          During the meeting, Dr. Yuhki Tajima provided a comprehensive overview of the Master in Diplomacy and International Affairs (MDIA) program. He expressed strong interest in welcoming Thai diplomats to the program and affirmed GU’s readiness to collaborate with the DVIFA in organizing training courses and capacity-building initiatives for Thai diplomatic personnel.

          The GU School of Foreign Service Asia Pacific was established in Jakarta as part of the initiative to elevate relations between the United States and ASEAN Member States under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) framework. The School aims to serve as a regional hub for education and research across the Asia-Pacific region as well as a hub for fostering research and academic exchange for the Global South.
