          On Thursday 24th February 2022, Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), presided over the Closing Ceremony of the Overseas Posting English Programme 2021 at the DVIFA, Government Complex, Building B. The Director gave the closing remarks and congratulated the 12 trainees, all Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support staff, on their enthusiasm and active participation throughout the course. 

          The Institute designed and developed the Overseas Posting English Programme 2021 with a view to enhancing the knowledge of the trainees and strengthening their ability in the four communicative English skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing skills) to prepare them for working effectively overseas in the future. According to the criteria and conditions set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all support staff who will be posted overseas must pass tests on five subjects: English, Finance, Accounting of Overseas Offices, Procurement, and Computer Skills.

          The Overseas Posting English Programme 2021 was carried out under the control measures for the COVID-19 pandemic. The course ran every Thursday during 22nd July 2021 - 24 February 2022 with a total of 180 training hours. This hybrid course was conducted both on site and online. The trainees had opportunities to practice their English skills through a variety of stimulating activities and simulated situations which they are likely to encounter while working overseas. This course developed not only the trainees English language and communication skills but also supported the strengthening of friendships and networking between colleagues of the departments at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote cooperation among different departments of the Ministry which will facilitate the work of the Ministry in the future.
