On Thursday 3^rd March 2022, Mrs. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, the Director of Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, assigned Ms. Piyaporn Jantarat, the Head of the Foreign Language Centre, to preside over the Opening Ceremony of the English Programme for Home-Based Staff 2022 in Training Room 1, the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs, Government Complex, Building B. The course has been developed to enhance the knowledge of English and strengthen four English communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ home-based support staff to enable them to communicate in English more effectively in the future.

The course will run every Thursday from 3^rd March - 21^st July 2022 for a total of 114 training hours. Sixteen trainees from various departments of the Ministry will participate. The course is a blended learning approach comprising both onsite and online units and can be conducted under the current COVID-19 preventative measures.

On the first day of the course, various stimulating ice-breaking activities designed to get participants ready to study English while getting to know their new classmates will be conducted. Moreover, other entertaining activities will make them enthusiastic to learn English, build their self-confidence in communicating in English, and provide them with new knowledge and skills for carrying out their work.
