          On 28 August 2023 Ms. Sairoong Dhamacharoen, the Minister Counselor and representative of the Director of the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs presided over the opening ceremony of the Advanced Oral Communication Course: AOCC Intake 17, 2023. There are 16 participants, who are all government officials and state enterprise employees from 6 agencies including (1) the National Police Agency (2) The Secretariat of The House of Representatives (3) the Office of the Council of State (4) the Ministry of Commerce  
(5) the Ministry of Tourism and Sports (6) the Ministry of Energy  (7) the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (8) the Ministry of Public Health and (9) the Metropolitan Electricity Authority
 
          Ms. Sairoong welcomed all of the trainees and briefly stated the history of the course.  The Devawongse Varoparkan Institute of Foreign Affairs has been developed in collaboration with the Victoria University of New Zealand. The objective is to enhance the potential of senior executives of government organizations to communicate in advanced, professional English at an international level. She also trusts that the participants will receive the full benefits from both learning and practicing throughout the training together with building a good network of relationships. It is also believed that the overseas training and study visits to public and private agencies in New Zealand will lead to the promotion and a push for cooperation at various levels given the significance of intergovernmental policies in the future.
 
          The AOCC has been divided into two modules: (1) From 28 August - 8 September 2023: classroom training at the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs focusing on advanced public speaking skills, introduction to impromptu speeches, academic presentations and expressing opinions at meetings (2)  from 9 August  24 September 2023, classroom training with qualified foreign speakers and experts in the English language at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. The course content includes international conferences, impromptu speeches, and negotiation in challenging simulated situations along with study visits to important government and private agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Parliament. as well as learning about the way of life, history, society and culture of New Zealand
